Stink no more
Household air freshener works wonders
Something, somewhere always stinks.
Little wonder, then, consumers fork out
more than $3 billion a year on air fresheners, carpet deodorizers,
candles and other odor-removing products, according to an AC Nielsen
study.
Now there's a new spray on the block,
one that promises to "encapsulate" foul odors (yes, even
those seemingly unstoppable stenches manufactured by Fido) rather
than merely mask them.
SeaYu Petrotech Odor Eliminator,
which is manufactured by San Francisco's SeaYu Enterprises,
is designed to get rid of urine, feces, skunk, smoke and food smells.
It also works great on trash, diaper, sports gear, mildew and other
stinks. Powders, liquids and other sprays in contrast need to be
left on the source of the odor to soak it up before the product
is removed and the less-than-pleasant aroma goes away.
We tested SeaYu Petrotech Odor Eliminator
(at left) for a few weeks, and it does indeed do away with foul
odors - including those emanating from the kitchen trash and the
(hmm hmm) bathroom almost instantly. A word of caution: Unlike most
sprays on the market, we found that Odor Eliminator puts out a semi-sticky
mist that coats any surface it touches and often takes several minutes
to dry.
